# Docs traffic

On Pro and up, the project's docs traffic page shows the last month, day by day: people, and each family of AI agents, by what they read.

## Who's counted

| Audience | How it's known |
| --- | --- |
| People | A browser's `User-Agent`. |
| An agent family, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini | Its `User-Agent` names it. |
| Other agents | Anything else that isn't a browser. |

## What's counted

| Kind | A read of |
| --- | --- |
| Pages | A page, as HTML. |
| Markdown | A page as Markdown, `skill.md` or `reference.md`. |
| `llms.txt` | `llms.txt` or `llms-full.txt`. |
| MCP | A docs MCP tool call. |

Members reading their own docs in the workspace aren't counted.

## What isn't kept

Only a count per day, audience and kind. Never which pages a visitor read, their address, or anything that tells one visitor from another. Older days are deleted as new ones come in.

On Free, the site, `llms.txt` and the MCP server work the same, but the traffic page isn't included.

## Where this comes from

- `app/docs/_lib/usage.ts`
- `app/docs/_lib/site.ts`
- `app/docs/_lib/mcp.ts`
- `app/hosted-mcp/_lib/usage.ts`
